Frequently Asked Questions
When will Illumine open?

Illumine School will open in August 2026.
Who will Illumine School serve?

For the 2026-2027 school year, we are accepting new students entering grades 5–7 for our mild to moderate needs program. We support a wide range of learning profiles, including students with significant anxiety, ADD/ADHD, specific learning disabilities (such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia), and high-functioning students on the autism spectrum. We also work with students whose mental health needs make larger or less structured environments challenging. We consider any student who qualifies for a 504 Plan, IEP, or private school service plan and whom we believe we can effectively support through small-group instruction within our intentionally small classes and close-knit school community. Each subsequent year, we will add an additional grade level, expanding through high school.
What does education look like at Illumine School?

Middle school is an important time of transition when families must consider what is best for their child’s next step. While many middle schools have large class sizes, Illumine School believes in keeping class sizes small in a small school environment that can meet the needs of each student – spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.
Illumine School provides a Christian education based on a Biblical worldview in all subject areas. Students are taught in small groups for reading and mathematics based on their current level of achievement, their grade level, and their needs. Students study literature, social studies, and science alongside the truths of God’s Word. Daily prayers and Bible lessons are a regular part of school culture.
In addition to core subjects, students will have physical education classes at a local gym, academic and career planning sessions, as well as social-emotional learning. Throughout the day, students will have regular brain breaks including mindfulness strategies between classes.
Illumine School will follow this same approach through high school to prepare students to reach their full potential and their next steps in education and/or career pathways.
